After elimination, the widespread uptake of reusable packaging has the highest potential to reduce plastic production. This view is sustained by a recent shift in legislative focus in the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the United Nation’s Global Plastics Treaty to end plastic pollution.
However, several brands and industry associations have been hesitant to wholeheartedly embrace reusable packaging. Main argument beside environmental issues are economical reasons.
For that reason, Zero Waste Europe and Searious Business partnered to produce a study that investigates the economic viability of reuse systems when at scale and in three sectors: takeaway, transport and beverages.
For the upcoming webinar on “The economics of reuse” co-hosted by Planet Reuse and Zero Waste Europe, we invite two authors of the study to get first hand insights of the findings, and you will also learn what the study’s outcomes mean for future legislation and policy.
Join our webinar on Thursday 21 September to deep dive into the topic!
