Zero Waste North West
Zero Waste North West began from a campaign to stop an incinerator being built outside Derry City in the North West of Northern Ireland, when we realised no was not enough, and we had to figure out what we were for. That’s when we discovered Zero Waste.
We are a local manifestation of a global movement, and are a completely voluntary group who work in the community, in schools and with businesses to model ZWCE practice, using creative, innovative and fun methods to transform people’s relationship to waste.
We also work with our local council to support the implementation of a Zero Waste Circular Economy Strategy, unanimously adopted by Derry City and Strabane District council in December 2017.
