Italy
Marche a Rifiuti Zero is a volunteer-led non profit organisation based in the Marche Region in central Italy, founded in 2015.

They promote the zero waste strategy by prioritising waste prevention, reuse and high quality recycling, and by supporting transparent, community-led decision-making on waste management. Their work combines environmental education in schools, with practical activities and circular economy skills, and local partnerships with municipalities and businesses to reduce packaging and improve separate collection.

Since 2018 they have supported local sustainability pathways along the coast through initiatives such as ‘Cupra per l’Ambiente and Ambiente Bene Comune’, engaging more than 400 local activists in concrete commitments for waste prevention and resource saving. Marche a Rifiuti Zero brings strong local experience and community driven solutions to a shared European effort for waste prevention and a just circular economy. They are also an active member of Zero Waste Italy, one of the key founding members of ZWE.
