Zero Waste conference in Budapest

The conference will take place in Budapest, on 2-4th November, where international and Hungarian speakers will talk about the latest trends of zero waste and show solutions, good practice examples, including study trips.
The first day will count on the presence of Joan Marc Simon, executive director of ZWE and Piotr Barczak, waste policy officer of EEB. Representatives from the Hungarian Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, Ministry of Agriculture and EMLA (Environmental Management and Law Association) will present the recent updates in waste legislation and the president of Hungarian National Association of Local Authorities (TÖOSZ) will show the local municipalities’ standpoint on waste prevention. The day will end with the case study of Contarina where the collection rate is now 85%.
The second day will consist of further case studies and workshops where participants will be able to discuss solutions and learn from each other. The last day of the conference will be a perfect opportunity to see good practices in person through study trips. First, a complex waste treatment facility will be visited and afterwards at the beer factory of Dreher Sörgyárak Zrt. participants will be able to learn about waste prevention actions.
