Upcoming DRS system in Spain: Global Experts Conference

Retorna, Zero Waste Europe, and Reloop are organising the “Deposit System in Spain: international conference of experts” conference on 18 November 2025 at the NH Zurbano hotel in Madrid, which can also be followed online.

Taking place six months after the application deadline to become an operator of the upcoming Deposit System for beverage containers in Spain, this conference is an opportunity to meet with national and international experts.

The event will be a space for dialogue and joint work between all the actors involved in achieving the best possible Deposit System model for Spain.

The agenda includes:

Opening session with representatives from the European Commission (video message) and the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
Presentations on the political, legislative, economic, and strategic context.
Debate on the social vision of the Deposit System with municipalities, recyclers, NGOs, trade unions, and businesses.
