UKWIN Campaign Workshop

17/10/2015 @ 10:30 - 17:00

UKWIN CAMPAIGN WORKSHOP

This Campaign Workshop is intended to bring anti‐incineration (and anti‐biomass,  and  pro‐zero  waste)  campaigners  together  to  compare  notes and to engage in strategic thinking. This is part of a wider process intended to help enable the movement to shape the (local, national, and European) direction of travel, focussing not just on successfully opposing incineration but also on positively  bringing about more sustainable resource management and other environmental  and social improvements. The Workshop will include sessions on:

• Sharing campaigning experiences and strategies ‐ Including  understanding  who  the  decision  makers  are,  and  what triggers they respond to, and obtaining and making effective use of environmental information.
• Positive alternatives to incineration ‐ Including  an  overview  of  movements  and  groups  working  to  bring about alternatives to incineration.
• Bringing  about lasting change ‐ Including  working  with  local  communities  and  others  to  change opinions  and  behaviour  in  relation  to  resource  use  /  waste management.

Places  are  limited,  and  booking  is  essential.  No  charge  for  attendance, and lunch is free, but financial donations are welcome. UKWIN can offer some  financial  support  for  travel  expenses  in  certain  circumstances (if interested please request a Travel Pot Application Form).
