Leading up to the Zero Waste Festival in Barcelona, a dedicated study and networking day for city officials and zero waste practitioners will be held on 25 March 2025, co-organised by Rezero and Zero Waste Europe

Who can join?

  • City officials, waste and circular economy technicians;
  • Members of civil society organisations supporting cities in advancing zero single-use material waste initiatives;
  • Progressive local businesses offering reuse & waste prevention solutions to cities.

Why join?

  • Gain practical tools and knowledge to scale up effective reuse and prevention policies in your city or community;
  • Learn from existing best practices and hear from the officials behind such initiatives in Catalonia;
  • Network and collaborate on shared objectives and challenges facing cities and businesses in adopting local reuse and prevention solutions.

What’s on the agenda?  Building on insights from the Elevating Reuse in Cities (ERIC) and Reuse Vanguard (RSVP) projects, this study day will feature:

  • Presentations on local strategies for prevention and reuse.
  • A visit to Viladecans, a Zero Waste Candidate City and ERIC member, showcasing successful waste prevention initiatives, including a discussion with the municipal team on their plastic prevention plan and its initial results.
  • Interactive workshops designed to develop actionable solutions for scaling reuse and prevention policies.

Networking opportunities, capped by an evening session over drinks, to foster collaboration and shared learning.

Practical information:

  • Registration: There are 25 spots available for this event, with priority given to members of the ERIC and RSVP projects. Due to high demand, selection will be based on the applications received. Please submit your application HERE before 10 February 2025.
  • Costs: The full day is free of charge. This will include catering (lunch + evening reception), and transportation on the day. However, participants are responsible for their travel to Barcelona and accommodation.
    ⚠️ Zero Waste Europe members only can request a refund of up to 200 euros to help cover travel expenses.

Stay for our Zero Waste Festival! On 26-27 March, Rezero and Zero Waste Europe will be hosting the Zero Waste Festival. We warmly encourage participants to join the festival following the study day.
