Transforming cities with the ERIC project: Paving the way to zero waste
At Zero Waste Europe, our aim is to accelerate the adoption of zero waste solutions, right at the grassroots level, where cities and businesses collaborate with their communities.
Of course, this cannot be driven solely by a team from Brussels. This work is made possible only through the actions and knowledge of ZWE members. Today, we’re working collectively with municipalities representing over 16 million Europeans.
Despite the vast differences in culture, context and geography across Europe, there are many common challenges that we see for municipalities wanting to improve the way they manage and preserve resources locally. This is why in March 2024, we gathered over 50 city officials and Zero Waste Europe members in Berlin for a training on waste prevention and reuse strategies as part of our ERIC project.
Ever wondered what these kinds of events look like, or why they are so important?
Fortunately, we’ve captured in this video the essence of these events firsthand.
At the core of our theory of change is a firm belief in the transformative power of education, collaboration, and connection, equipping individuals with quality zero waste skills, knowledge and networking opportunities. By fostering meaningful interactions, shared learning, and innovative brainstorming sessions for new ideas, we’re propelling Europe towards zero waste, one community at a time.
It takes a movement to deliver change on the scale that we need. And there’s no time to waste.
So let’s join forces and ignite the zero waste revolution. Together, we can make a world of difference.
